45 minutes of post-modern-surf-instro-mania. The CD that started
an endless and pointless controversy about "Modern" surf! Listen for yourself...
Blasphemy or just a blast? Phil Dirt gave it Five Stars and suggested
you "Kill For It". Thanks Phil, but it might be easier to just pay $11
and save yourself a lifetime in jail. A full description of The Ocean Is Not for

The
Surf Coasters
"Outside Break" "Outside Break" was recorded before the band's 2008 U.S.A. Tour and features a mre progressive instrumental guitar sound. Here's Phil dirt's review: "What an amazing album Outside Break is. This is a very powerful and stunningly good release. You already know I am a huge Surf Coasters fan, having been the first to play them on the air in America, and having hosted and recorded them live twice. That said, this album really rocks! They have added some intense new vibrations to their sound and direction, while keeping their music very surf in feel and power. Outside Break is highly recommended, but if you have a pacemaker, you may want to exercise caution and spread your first experience out so you don't overwhelm your batteries. There are many reference points used in my review, but I must make one thing perfectly clear - they are only reference points. With only a couple of exceptions, the other referenced artists only wish they could achieve what Shigeo Naka does on his guitar. It's just my humble opinion, but it is The Surf Coasters that belong on the top of every guitar player's list, with only Dave Wronski and Jim Thomas on the same level. Songs: Super Jet Boogie, Breakout, Refraction, Endless Journey, Pink Sapphire, Moonlight Cruise, Gloom, Drifter, Yume No Ato (After The Dream) Phil Dirt / Reverb Central reviewed this CD with 5 Stars ***** |
